Job Description
Actively prospect and solicit new group and event business (corporate meetings, weddings, social events, tour groups) through outside calls, site visits, and networking.
Respond to incoming group RFPs within 2 hours and convert qualified leads into confirmed bookings.
Conduct personalized hotel site inspections and tours for event planners and decision-makers.
Negotiate and prepare group contracts including room rates, attrition clauses, cutoff dates, and food & beverage minimums.
Maximize revenue by upselling meeting packages, AV equipment, upgraded menus, and additional room nights.
Create detailed and accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and Group Resumes for operational handoff to banquets and front office teams.
Serve as the primary on-site client contact during events to resolve issues and ensure guest satisfaction.
Forecast group room night pick-up weekly and monitor attrition risk to minimize penalty losses.
Track all sales activity, leads, and bookings in CRM (Delphi, Cvent, or similar) and achieve monthly room night production goals.
Maintain flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as required for event duty coverage and wedding functions.
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role:
- Minimum 12 months’ experience in a proactive sales role, preferably in a hotel or conference and events focused business
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where excellent planning and execution skills are needed
- Exceptional attention to detail and comfortable communicating with all stakeholders
- Sound understanding of emerging trends in the industry
- Understanding of budgeting and forecasting, and ability to prepare reports
- Able to work independently as well as build strong relationships within the hotel team
- Confident and articulate, with negotiation and networking skills
- Arabic Speaking is an added value.
