Job Description

Spice up the kitchen scene by assisting the team in cooking up dishes that are a feast for the eyes and the taste buds.

We are looking to fill 2 Commis Chef roles. Hours to be discussed during the interview

Our Ambassador will:

  • Support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chefs in preparing and cooking dishes to the highest standards.
  • Assist in operating assigned kitchen sections, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and adherence to recipes.
  • Prepare and cook staff and guest meals with attention to quality, timing, and presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of work areas, equipment, and food storage following health regulations.
  • Monitor ingredient use, help reduce waste, and follow cost-effective preparation methods.
  • Learn and assist in menu planning, ordering supplies, and understanding food and labour cost management.
  • Follow hygiene, safety, and kitchen procedures, developing skills and knowledge under supervision. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 18 months experience in a similar role.
  • Completed National Certificate in Hospitality Level 4 in Professional Cookery.
  • Physically fit and able to stand and work efficiently for full shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Highly organised with strong time management, numeracy, and communication skills.
  • Professional presentation and interpersonal skills, projecting a polished image at all times.
  • Willingness and aptitude for ongoing development and training under Ibis standards.
  • Ability to build rapport, manage stress effectively, and contribute positively to a collaborative kitchen team.
