Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is in the midst of a multi-phase resort transformation, including all new venues, refreshed spaces, and evolving service models. Restaurant, Bar & Guest Services teams will be working in newly renovated spaces, with updated layouts, technology, and guest flow.

Job Description

As a Banquet Manager, you will provide vision and leadership that fosters an engaged team and ensures quality, efficiency and superior service at each group function.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Director, Banquets, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
- Direct and manage all activity related to the Banquet department, ensuring all service standards are followed
- Ensure all functions maintain a first class and positive visual impact; including ambiance, décor and service delivery
- Assist with the Recruitment and Training for the Banquet Department
- Follow the annual budget and administer it in a fiscally responsible manner
- Ensure all financial reporting is maintained and accurate billing for each banquet meeting is recorded
- Respond to guest concerns and react quickly and professionally
- Assume responsibility for all banquet facilities, including cleanliness, repair and maintenance, reporting any deficiencies as required
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies

Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
- At least 2 years of previous leadership experience in food and beverage required with minimum 1 year banquet experience
- Pro Serve certification required
- Valid Alberta Driver license required
- Previous experience in banquets or catering required
- Previous experience in a hotel banquet setting preferred
- University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
- Train the Trainer and Interaction Management and asset
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Property Manager and Sales and Catering system preferred
- Ability to maintain complete confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
