The Island Chapter

Luura begins its journey in Paros with two distinct yet connected expressions.

Luura Paros Cliff, opening May 2026, features 39 thoughtfully designed rooms set above the sea.

One year later, Luura Paros Sand follows with 49 additional rooms and a collection of vibrant food and social spaces that capture another rhythm of the island.

Job Description

Your Role
As Cluster Chief Engineer, you’ll be part of the team bringing these two properties to life — leading their set-up, launch, and ongoing care. You’ll make sure every space runs flawlessly, with comfort, safety, and craftsmanship at the core. This role blends technical precision with an appreciation for the details that define the LUURA experience. It’s engineering excellence with a creative edge: maintaining technical perfection while helping shape the atmosphere and guest experience that make LUURA unforgettable.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Opening Tasks

  • Develop and implement a clear opening playbook for Paros Cliff and Paros Sand, covering installation, commissioning, systems testing, and infrastructure handover.
  • Establish preventative maintenance schedules and a robust work-order system from day one to protect assets and equipment warranties.
  • Oversee installation quality and ensure all drawings, manuals, and guarantees are complete and organized for handover.
  • Commission and certify life safety, HVAC, plumbing, and energy systems, ensuring compliance and operational readiness.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train engineering teams for both hotels, with a focus on operational excellence, safety, and LUURA brand standards.
  • Act as Ennismore’s eyes and ears during the completion process, identifying construction and quality defects, non-compliance issues, and deviations from best practices. Collaborate closely with the onsite project delivery team, demonstrating strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ongoing Operations

  • Manage scheduled and urgent repairs to minimize downtime and disruption across both properties.
  • Oversee multi-property engineering budgets, monitor costs, and deliver monthly reports on maintenance, utilities, and capital projects.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations, and lead regular safety audits and drills.
  • Mentor teams, provide ongoing training, and work cross-departmentally to enhance guest experience.
  • Lead energy conservation efforts, monitor consumption, and implement sustainable solutions to reduce environmental impact.

Qualifications

Who We’re Looking For

  • 5 -7 years’ proven experience in a senior engineering role (Chief Engineer, Project Engineer, or equivalent), preferably with hotel opening experience. High-performing Assistant Directors of Engineering poised for their next career step are encouraged to apply.
  • Complete knowledge of various engineering principles and techniques
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Excel
  • Proven multi-property or large-scale project management skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Naturally warm, friendly, and attentive.
  • Excited to work in a fast-moving, people-first environment.
  • Passionate about culture, art, and authentic hospitality.
  • A team player who thrives on collaboration and connection.
  • As intimate, luxury, service driven assets, this position demands that the successful candidate can, on occasion, interact with guests portraying suitable etiquette and focusing on customer experience.
