Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Purchase Associate to join our team at Grand Mercure Mysore, India. As a Purchase Associate, you will play a crucial role in our procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services for our organization.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to purchase order creation and vendor payment
- Analyze market trends, conduct price comparisons, and negotiate with vendors to secure optimal pricing and terms
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing needs and provide solutions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, contracts, and vendor information in our procurement software
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate purchase orders to maintain adequate stock
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of new vendors based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations in all purchasing activities
- Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and vendor performance
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the procurement function
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 2-3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in vendor management and contract negotiations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
- Solid understanding of supply chain management principles
- Knowledge of market trends and pricing strategies
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional certification in purchasing or supply management (e.g., CPSM, CPM) preferred
