We are looking for a dynamic and experienced People & Culture, Legal Specialist with a strong legal background to join our team and help us navigate the intersection of HR and legal compliance. This unique role combines legal expertise with a passion for building a positive organizational culture.
Job Overview:
As the People & Culture, Legal Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing both legal matters and people-related functions across the organization. You will ensure that all employment practices align with legal requirements while fostering a workplace culture that promotes engagement, diversity, and growth. This is a high-impact role that requires a blend of legal proficiency, strategic HR thinking, and a deep understanding of organizational dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
Permit and Licenses, Government Relations, Operational Audits, and all compliance related matters
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, severance agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other related documents.
Provide legal counsel on employment-related matters, advising HR and leadership teams on compliance, risk mitigation, and legal best practices.
Address and resolve employee disputes and grievances, managing legal risks and minimizing potential liability for the company.
People & Culture Responsibilities:
Work closely with leadership to develop and implement strategies that foster an inclusive, engaging, and high-performance workplace culture.
Oversee employee relations, ensuring a positive work environment and addressing employee concerns in a timely and legally compliant manner.
Lead talent management initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management, ensuring fairness, inclusivity, and legal compliance.
Champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts across the organization, ensuring all employees have equal opportunities for growth and success.
Develop and deliver training programs on legal matters, workplace culture, Sustainability and DEI initiatives.
Regularly assess employee engagement, satisfaction, and feedback, using insights to recommend and implement improvements.
Collaborate with leadership on employee retention, career development, and succession planning strategies.
Qualifications
A Law Degree and a strong background in Indonesian employment law, labor law, or a related legal field.
Proven experience (2+ years) in a legal or HR-related role, ideally with a focus on legal and/or organizational culture.
Experience in handling permit and licenses and compliance matters.
Strong understanding of HR functions, including talent management, performance management, and employee development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate legal jargon into clear, actionable advice.
Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance legal risks and organizational goals.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
