Job Description
Operational
- Supervise entire operations of the Department, delivering prompt service and high quality laundering to the guests and the hotel.
- Check the finished product of guest garments.
- Ensure prompt and timely delivery of garments and house linen.
- In consultation with the Laundry Manager rotate employees amongst different tasks whenever appropriate.
- Ensure the maintenance of an adequate quantity of supplies for the effective running of the laundry and dry cleaning machines.
- Keep updated and assist the Engineering Department in the Planned Preventive
Maintenance as well as break down maintenance to ensure the lowest down time of equipment.
- Ensure and maintain adequate control over the use of chemicals, laundry supplies, water, steam and electricity to keep operational expenses in control.
- Ensure that the employees of the Department are groomed and the machines and work premises are clean in accordance with the defined standards.
- Handle guests’ complaints promptly and effectively, whenever required.
Business plan /Analysis
- Work on the preparation of the revenue and operational budgets
for the Department.
- Ensure that the plan for the optimum conservation of energy is adhered by all employees of the Department.
- Ensure and maintain adequate control over the use of chemicals, laundry supplies, water, steam and electricity to keep operational expenses in control.
- Assist the Laundry Manager to conduct periodic and annual inventory of equipment & recommend replacement of equipment as required.
- Identify optimal, cost effective use of the resources and educate the team on the same.
- Assist the Laundry Manager to review the monthly income and expenditure report of the laundry and develop an action/work plan.
Team Management
- Guide and assist team members in the execution of their tasks as and when required.
- Rotate employees amongst different tasks within the Department, whenever appropriate.
- Continually train all employees of the Department and make sure to complete the man hour training and make aware of all the procedures and safety provisions.
- Ensure that all personnel are kept well informed of department’s objectives and policies.
- Motivate and develop staff to ensure smooth functioning of the department and promote teamwork.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with all service providers.
- Respond to customer queries by resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
General Duty
- Meet long stay and repeat guests regularly to ensure that their preferences are met.
- Assign and review the work of the laundry team engaged in receiving, washing, ironing, packaging and delivering.
- Ensure that all the Standard Operating Procedures set for the Laundry department are followed.
Qualifications
- Should have completed Graduation.
- Should be having Minimum 3 years of experience.
- Should have complete knowledge of Laundry chemicals and machines.
- Should be skilled in the operation of washing, dry cleaning and pressing.
- Should have complete awareness of policy and procedure of the company.
