Job Description

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Demi Chef de Partie (Garde Manger) to join our culinary team in Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the cold food section, ensuring high-quality preparation and presentation of salads, appetizers, and other cold dishes.

  • Prepare and present a variety of cold dishes, including salads, appetizers, and hors d'oeuvres
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation
  • Ensure proper food storage and rotation to minimize waste and maintain freshness
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop new menu items and specials
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff in cold food preparation techniques
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Assist in inventory management and ordering of supplies for the cold kitchen
  • Contribute to menu planning and recipe development
  • Support other kitchen sections during peak hours as needed

Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Garde Manger or in a similar role
  • Proven experience in high-volume kitchens
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency in various food preparation techniques
  • Expertise in cold food preparation and presentation
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Current Food Safety Certification
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities
  • Creativity and attention to detail in food presentation
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
