Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Commis 1 to join our culinary team at Swissotel Corniche Park Towers Doha, Qatar. As a Commis 1, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, and seasoning
- Support senior chefs in cooking and plating various dishes according to recipes and standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Operate and clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and tools
- Assist in the proper storage and rotation of food items to minimize waste
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service
- Participate in menu preparation and contribute creative ideas for new dishes
- Assist in inventory management and restocking of supplies
- Adapt to various kitchen stations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to learn
- Contribute to a positive and team-oriented work environment
Qualifications
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques
- Strong passion for the hospitality and culinary fields
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and consistency
- Basic English language skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities efficiently
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous kitchen experience or culinary education (preferred but not required)
