  • Ensure efficient, friendly and professional food and beverage service is provided to all guests.
  • Provide for guests and patrons an experience and environment they feel meets their expectations.
  • Familiarise yourself with VIP and regular guests to ensure their requests and needs are met.
  • Maintain control of restaurant service equipment, correctly recording breakages and carry our regular stock takes.
  • Maintain a weekly cleaning schedule for the restaurant to achieve the highest possible hygiene and cleaning standards.
  • Ensure all mis-en-place is completed prior to guests arriving.
  • Ensure staff are competent in dining menu and wine list knowledge and can maximise sales to guests.
  • Ensure the front-of-house and back-of-house areas are clean and tidy.
  • Ensure guest billing is completed accurately following hotel procedure and that correct charges are posted.
  • Attend regular meetings with the Restaurant & Bar Manager and Director of Culinary.
  • Use department procedure manuals as a base for all service procedures training.
  • Properly induct new staff into the team, department and hotel in the first week of their employment.
  • Ensure that all staff under your control carry out their duties in accordance with the service standards and procedures manuals to meet departmental / hotel service standards and brand standards.
  • Effectively utilise data and feedback to improve product and service delivery.
  • Openly communicate with staff ensuring regular briefings occur and all relevant information is passed onto staff.
  • Delegate duties so all aspects of the shift are covered
  • Lead by example to maintain good staff morale.
  • Manage staff within performance guidelines
  • Ensure that all staff adhere to the licence conditions held by the premise.
  • Ensure responsible service of alcohol to all guests by staff.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a hospitality leadership position.
  • Previous experience in Hotel operations.
  • An LCQ Certificate & wine knowledge would be advantageous;
  • A natural communicator, indulging in story-telling and curating memorable experiences for others
  • Passionate, and creative in designing and delivering meaningful moments with ease.

Additional Information

30 hours guaranteed - $31.52 per hour. Shifts include breakfast, day, or evening including weekend and public holidays.
