Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team at Swissotel Corniche Park Towers Doha, Qatar. As the Purchasing Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing our organization's procurement processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services.
- Develop and implement strategic purchasing and procurement policies to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Manage the entire procurement lifecycle, from identifying potential suppliers to negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and economic indicators to forecast supply and demand for products and services
- Collaborate with department heads to understand their purchasing needs and ensure timely fulfillment
- Oversee the evaluation and selection of suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery capabilities
- Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to optimize costs and maintain high-quality standards
- Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess inventory
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with local and international procurement laws, regulations, and company policies
- Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals, fostering their growth and development
- Implement and maintain procurement systems and software to streamline processes and improve data accuracy
- Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers and implement improvement strategies as needed
- Prepare and present comprehensive procurement reports to senior management
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior purchasing or procurement role, preferably in a corporate setting
- Strong command of English
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management
- In-depth understanding of procurement processes, market dynamics, and supply chain management
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and experience with procurement software and ERP systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing teams
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Knowledge of import/export procedures and international trade regulations
- Familiarity with local business practices and regulations in Doha, Qatar
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence decision-making at all levels
- Strong financial acumen with experience in cost analysis and budgeting
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
- CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or similar professional certification is a plus
