Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef De Partie specializing in South Indian Cuisine to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing authentic South Indian dishes, maintaining high standards of food quality, and contributing to menu development.

  • Prepare and cook a variety of South Indian dishes with precision and consistency
  • Ensure the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Assist in menu planning and recipe development, incorporating traditional and innovative South Indian culinary techniques
  • Manage and train junior kitchen staff in South Indian cuisine preparation
  • Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service operations
  • Monitor and control food costs, minimizing waste while maintaining quality
  • Assist the Head Chef in inventory management and ordering supplies
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss menu improvements and operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (3-5 years) as a Chef De Partie or similar role, specializing in South Indian cuisine
  • In-depth knowledge of South Indian ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques
  • Proficiency in using various kitchen equipment and utensils specific to South Indian cooking
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Creativity and passion for South Indian culinary arts
  • Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts (preferred)
  • Valid Food Safety Certification
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
