Job Description

Sofitel Philadelphia at Rittenhouse is seeking a visionary and analytical Director of Finance to join our dynamic Accounting team. S/He will be a key member of our executive leadership, and will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, developing strategic financial plans, and ensuring the long-term financial health of the hotel.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of the organization's financial strategy
  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and treasury management
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization
  • Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Manage the annual budgeting and planning process
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their financial needs and seek full range of business solutions
  • Ensure compliance with Internal and external Audit, financial regulations and standards
  • Optimize the handling of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position
  • Develop and implement financial controls and risk management procedures 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounting team, fostering an inclusive high performing team culture of collaboration and excellence

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA, CPA or CFA certification is a plus
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a similar senior leadership Accounting role in a hotel 
  • Extensive experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and analysis
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting standards
  • Proven track record in managing and developing high-performing finance teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to prioritize effectively
  • Visionary mindset with the ability to align financial operations with organizational goals
