    Job Description

    • Perform the tasks of order taking and maximize sales opportunities through knowledge of product and suggestive selling.  Ensure accuracy by repeating order(s) to the guests.
    • Ensure dockets are written clearly and correctly so the cashier and kitchen can fulfill their duties effectively.
    • Deliver orders promptly to the kitchen production area.
    • Prepare cocktails & mocktails according to standardized recipes
    • Verify meals upon collection from the kitchen and deliver them to guests quickly to maintain proper temperature and appearance, announcing each item as delivered.
    • Keep tables and service areas clean and tidy as per procedure manual.
    • Maintain hygienic food service techniques during service.
    • Take responsibility for your designated section and station.
    • Perform minibar and room amenity tasks
    • Promptly answer the telephone and maximize sales opportunities through knowledge of product and suggestive selling.
    • Perform all tasks to Sofitel Brand standards.
    • Any other reasonable request within your range of competence as required by your Supervisor or Hotel Management.
    • Supervision support and ongoing training to employees to ensure standards and procedures are observed to provide a consistent, high level of service for all customer contact
    • Assist in the setup and breakdown of events and functions
    • Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service during events
    • Assist supervisors in maintaining records of stock levels
    • Ensuring dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance
    • Taking reservations, greet guests and assist in taking orders
    • Liaise with kitchen staff in relation to ‘product’ for the outlet, ensuring that quality and quantities are maintained to required standards.
    • Ensure adherence to the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and other relevant legislation
    • Put away all delivered goods in their respective storerooms
    • Work with staff to minimise wastage and breakages.
    • Familiarise yourself with VIP and regular guests to ensure their requests and needs are met.
    • Ensure guest billing is completed accurately following hotel procedure and that correct charges are posted.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years Food & Beverage experience, including five star service experience
    • LCQ required
    • WSET Level 1 required
    • Projects professional image at all times through personal presentation/ interpersonal skills
    • Desire and ability to train and develop staff
    • Initiates contacts and establishes rapport easily
    • Organises time and work efficiently
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Has the ability and willingness to undertake further development
    • Willingness to work weekends and public holidays as part of the job role.

    Additional Information

    Full Time, 40 hours.

    $29.66 per hour
