Job Description

An incredible opportunity to join of our iconic Hotel Sofitel New York in the Sofitel/MGallery network is open for a General Manager. Reporting into the Vice President Operations, the General Manager oversees the day to day operations of the hotel in accordance with company and brand mission, vision, values and standards. The maximization of financial performance, guest satisfaction and colleague engagement is an integral part of the position. Furthermore, the General Manager will assist the VPO in the development and communication of strategies, goals and objectives as well as the implementation and monitoring of financial and operational plans for the hotel while, managing, growing and fostering positive owner relations and maximizing performance

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior 5+ years experience in luxury hotel management essential

• Strong educational background beneficial

• Fluent in English

• Good understanding of the local market (previous experience in US and New York preferred)

• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills

• Highly skilled in managing owner/management company relationships and quick with responses

• Adaptable & flexible with the capacity to set high goals and standards for the smooth operation of the hotel

• Must be strategic, creative and able to clearly communicate how plans will deliver on overall goals

• Strong match with our Leader model: Effective management style, hands-on and approachable

• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills

• Bottom-line oriented with emphasis on quality guest-service and team-building

• Understanding and experience of union relations
