Assistant / Associate Transportation Analyst (REMOTE)

Job Description 

The Transportation Analyst will provide operational & analytical support in Domestic and International Logistics operations across Abercrombie’s global network. This includes the routing of freight both inbound and outbound to all A&F distribution centers worldwide, internal & external customer service, & delivery and carrier management.

What Will You Be Doing? 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Master transportation services such as International Ocean, International Air, Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, and Small Parcel to optimize logistics operations.
  • Develop and implement insightful reporting and analytics solutions tailored to evolving operational needs.
  • Lead meetings with ANF Transportation service providers to review performance KPIs and drive new business opportunities, holding providers accountable for their performance.
  • Serve as one of the primary Transportation contacts for internal ANF Supply Chain partners, including Sourcing, Merchandising, Finance, Store Operations, and OMNI Operations.
  • Perform intermediate cost and process analysis and provide recommendations for key business decisions, presenting results to the Transportation and Supply Chain Management teams, including management of RFIs, RFPs, and other new business opportunities.
  • Identify and resolve problems within the network by working with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Make a positive impact on the business by prioritizing Expense Management and overall customer experience in decision-making.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain transportation SOPs.
  • Manage AP invoicing resolution and conduct expense management analysis.
  • Contribute to carrier contract negotiations through RFIs and RFPs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for service providers.
  • Analyze transportation costs and performance metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive transportation reports and dashboards for informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers and manage carrier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Monitor compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize transportation strategies, improve efficiency, and enhance carrier performance.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with third-party service providers to ensure alignment with company objectives and performance standards.

What Do You Need To Bring? 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, and Lotus Notes.
  • Ability to communicate clearly & effectively
  • EDI/API knowledge and Supply Chain Visibility application experience a plus
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment and manage competing priorities
  • Creative thinking with the ability to utilize and embrace technology in problem-solving approaches
  • 1-3 Years previous Transportation & Global Logistics experience strongly preferred

Therefore, in states and cities that require the hourly or salary compensation or pay range to be included in a job posting, the recruiting pay range for this position is $62,000 - $74,000. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, your years of experience, your work location, comparison to other employees in similar or related roles, or market demands.
