Our distribution network is built to deliver stock to our stores and fulfill direct-to-consumer orders with speed and efficiency. Merchandise is shipped to our distribution centers ("DCs”), where it is received and inspected before being shipped to stores or direct-to-consumer customers. Our two company-owned DCs are in New Albany, Ohio and total more than 2 million sq. ft. Industrial Automation & Controls Engineers play a key role in successful operation of the supply chain. Knowledge of multiple system(s) is required, mandating the individuals to have an extensive knowledge in the areas of electrical, electronics, PAC/PLC (Programmable Automation Controllers/Logic Controllers), Building Automations Controls (bacNet), Database, Industrial computers, etc. The individual assists in the design, replacement, and retro-fit of new systems, as their experience and knowledge of successes and failures is critical when systems are being designed and/or upgraded. Additionally, the technicians troubleshooting and repair capabilities must be excellent. To keep product moving in/out of the facilities they support, the individuals must be able to get it right the first time as the customer and ultimately the business success could be impacted otherwise.
This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.
What Will You Be Doing?
The 2nd shift runs Monday - Thursday 4:00 pm - 2:00 am
Testing, maintaining, and modifying existing systems
Analyzing data and presenting results in requested reports
Managing the operation of assigned equipment
Working with design, operation, and testing engineers, purchasers and other internal staff
Communicating with vendors and internal staff on MOP and SOP protocol
Project management with cost and time constraints
Troubleshooting and problem-solving
Understanding and maintaining safety and service level standards
Consulting with operations team on best practices/use for equipment
Writing machine code and testing procedures
Developing new solution to resolve business challenges
Accepting responsibility and accountability for given tasks and projects
Developing and troubleshooting GUI/HMI (Graphical User Interface/Human Machine Interface)
Supporting peripheral devices associated with equipment
What Do You Need To Bring?
Willing to work over time when needed.
Willing to come in early or stay late to complete repairs.
Must be able to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
Applicant must be able to climb multiple flight of stairs, over and under conveyor as needed.
Some college or equivalent experience of 5 + years
Experience with designing and developing of new control systems a plus
Autocad and BacNet experience is a plus
