Would you like to take the next step in your career and play a key role in developing AbbVie’s presence within neurology and migraine in Norwegian general practice? Then this could be the opportunity for you.
Job Description
We are looking for an engaged and results-oriented Account Manager who will have dedicated responsibility for the Norwegian general practice (GP) market in the Oslo region. You will play an important role in ensuring that our messages and knowledge about migraine reach relevant healthcare professionals across the market—with the patient at the center and always in accordance with AbbVie’s values, applicable regulations, and internal policies.
As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for Oslo and surrounding area. You will work strategically to identify, prioritise and develop relevant customers and customer segments within general practice.
All GPs are potentially important partners, as they regularly encounter patients living with migraine. At the same time, the breadth of the market requires clear and analytical prioritisation of the areas, practices and customers to be followed up through physical and digital channels.
You will have primary responsibility for the commercial planning and execution of activities within your territory. The role involves extensive fieldwork, relationship building and targeted dialogue with GPs and other healthcare professionals in general practice. Digital channels and meetings will be an integrated part of your customer engagement approach.
You will work closely with established Account Managers who engage with hospitals, private-practice neurologists and other specialists. Together, you will contribute to a consistent customer and patient journey across different levels of care. The role is part of a cross-functional In-Field Team and involves close collaboration with colleagues in other key functions.
Qualifications
We are looking for people who have:
- Relevant higher education within healthcare, pharmacy, life sciences, business or a related field.
- Experience in sales, customer management, account management or business development—from the pharmaceutical industry.
- Documented knowledge of and experience working with GPs and general practice in the relevant geographic area.
- A good understanding of the organisation of the Norwegian primary healthcare system, including the GP scheme, decision-making processes and relevant stakeholders.
- The ability to analyse and prioritise territories, customers and activities based on commercial potential and available resources.
- Experience planning and conducting customer activities both in person and through digital channels.
- Fluency in Norwegian and a command of English.
- An interest in, or experience with, neurology, migraine or another relevant therapeutic area. This would be considered an advantage but is not essential.
- Certification as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative, or equivalent relevant qualifications.
- A valid Category B driving licence.
- The role is field-based and involves extensive travel, primarily within your geographic area of responsibility. Strong local knowledge, geographic flexibility and the ability to plan customer activities strategically will therefore be important for success.

As described, we are seeking someone who lives in or near Oslo. Please note that we are not working with recruitment agencies for this hiring process so please direct all applications to AbbVie. Applications close on the 23rd of September. We welcome your application!
