Job Description
The Senior Director, Market Access and Patient Services Insights is responsible for developing and executing a strategic vision and providing leadership across Patient Services & Market Access Insights and Analytics. They will do this by driving the success of our Patient Care and Market Access Models through the identification and application of insights and analytics. Operates as a member of the APEX leadership team and plays a critical role in shaping our organization's data-driven culture and driving transformative insights to accelerate our growth and ensure our ongoing success. This individual will be responsible for transforming AbbVie’s enterprise capabilities in data, insights, and AI to deliver on our Patient Service and Market Access aspirations.
Responsibilities (list up to 10 main responsibilities for the job, include information about accountability & scope):
- Develop and execute strategic vision and roadmap for Marketing Engagement Analytics that provides end-to-end performance insights across all patient service and market access pillars (Access & Reimbursement, Patient Engagement, Marketing) to enable deeper insights and actionable recommendations to enhance marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Develop and execute strategic vision and roadmap for Hub and Co-Pay Analytics, enabling measurement, reporting, and ability to analyze and model co-pay trends to provide guidance to variances in co-pay spend aligned to AbbVie’s forecasting and planning cycle.
- Is an advisor to the Head of U.S. Patient Services, Head of Market Access, and U.S. Business Unit Presidents providing thought leadership on patient care models with a strong understanding of patient access, affordability and adherence, technology, data, and partnerships for the creation and execution of care models.
- Develop a culture and environment where experts thrive, oversee the development of competency models, career paths, and onboarding and training programs for the individuals in the group
- Build and cultivate an industry-leading insights and intelligence team that attracts, develops and retains talent
- Direct analytics approach and data strategy across the patient funnel for all BUs (Immunology, Neuroscience/Eyecare, Oncology, Specialty) to deliver high-impact insights that inform access strategy and patient support.
- Oversee cross-functional collaboration across MAx/APS and brand teams to support strategic initiatives such as deal analytics, policy and pipeline insights, payer contract analysis, franchise research, etc., ensuring cohesive execution and high-impact access strategies.
- Partner with key stakeholders and engagement leads to identify business needs and opportunities to be translated into insights and intelligence solutions to create value and competitive advantage
- Develop and engage executive leadership on payer modeling and deal analytics.
- Identify areas needed to up-skill the expertise by attracting new talent to AbbVie and/or implementing strategic sourcing partnerships
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree in business or STEM preferred.
- 10+ years of Market Research and Analytics experience, preferably in the Pharma/BioTech industry, with 5+ years of management experience
- Previous experience leading and managing large-scale organizations through significant change management/transformations
- Strong leadership skills: excellent team management, coaching and mentoring skills; superior planning, process and influencing skills
- Deep knowledge of data, insights, intelligence, and AI methodologies, as well as proven experience translating large data into actionable outcomes
- Track record for consistently meeting or exceeding qualitative, as well as any relevant quantitative, targets and goals
- Ability to communicate statistical and technical ideas and results to non-technical stakeholders in written and verbal form, including experience and level of comfort presenting concepts to senior executives
- Experience with 3rd party pharmaceutical data like IMS/SHS Sales Data (APLD, DDD, Xponent, NSP, NPA), Specialty pharmacy data and other partners’ specific data (CoverMyMeds, ConnectivRx, Relay Health etc.).
- Possess strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare business environment and key AbbVie therapeutic areas to identify and proactively address opportunities and threats across federal, state and local governments, payor and managed care markets, and distribution channels.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills, enabling coordination across analytics, contracting, policy, and brand teams to deliver integrated access and patient services support.
- Deep understanding of patient services, payer dynamics, access strategy, and funnel analytics, with the ability to translate complex insights into actionable strategy.
- Deep expertise in managed care and payer customer experience, with the ability to translate payer insights into actionable market access and patient services strategies.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
