Job Description

Manage and delegate daily operations including workflow and management of work queues to ensure metrics, KPIs and objectives are achieved. Assist leadership in analyzing the pharmacy and pharmacist business needs and staffing related to current and future business requirements, help develop team structure, processes, roles/responsibilities and tools that will enable continuous improvements and efficiency/productivity initiatives. Identify enhancement opportunities in the pharmacy system in developing and implementing changes. Works with the other pharmacy leadership to identify opportunities for collaboration and streamlining current pharmacy processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and effectively communicate with pharmacy staff.
  • Manage daily work operations and queues; provide guidance to achieve goals, KPIs and objectives. Approach activities with the belief that the patient is at the center of everything we do.
  • Partner and collaborate with the pharmacy leadership to provide feedback to the director regarding best practice, workflows, and areas of opportunity.
  • Provide pharmacy and clinical expertise; coach, guide and provide feedback to others to build pharmacy knowledge and deliver improved patient experience.
  • Manage adherence to all corporate, division and departmental procedures and policies as well as pharmacy law and HIPAA guidelines to achieve compliance. Must recognize compliance shortfalls and work with pharmacy leadership to develop and implement solutions.
  • Conduct pharmacist call monitoring and case reviews and provides feedback.
  • Monitor issues and evaluate/monitor corrective/preventative action outcomes.
  • Seek innovative solutions to capitalize on pharmacist opportunities, efficiencies and productivity.
  • Partner closely with Pharmacy in Charge to ensure alignment with building wide approach and pharmacy legal requirements.
  • Participate in other projects and duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or PharmD degree in Pharmacy from an accredited pharmacy program is required.
  • Licensure in the State of Illinois required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Registered Pharmacist pharmacy and 2 years of supervisor experience preferred.
  • Must be comfortable interacting with patients and health care providers to provide drug information, advice and counseling.
  • Must be willing to fulfill any and all pharmacists duties/responsibilities if needed, including being able to handle on-call rotations for after-hours patient coverage.
  • Must have professional communication skills.
