Job Description

Purpose

The Supplier Inclusion & Sustainability, Sr. Specialist champions supplier inclusion initiatives by building and sustaining strong relationships with small, medium-size, and inclusive suppliers; external partners and industry organizations; and key internal stakeholders. This role identifies and supports inclusive suppliers, aligns with project-specific inclusion aspirations, and advocates for the company’s ESG commitments. Success requires strong networking and relationship management skills, confidence engaging and presenting across all levels of the organization, and a focus on operational excellence in both tactical execution and strategic initiatives. The role requires travel of approximately 10–15%.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnering & Opportunity Identification

  • Partner with procurement teams to integrate inclusive suppliers into sourcing strategies using data-driven recommendations.
  • Analyze the RFP tracker and other sourcing tools to identify upcoming opportunities and provide actionable recommendations that support procurement decisions and inclusion aspirations.

 

Reporting, Analytics & Insights

  • Manage Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier inclusion reporting, ensuring data quality and accuracy across all sources.
  • Translate data into insights and narratives that inform strategic decisions, highlight progress, and identify gaps and opportunities.

 

Supplier Onboarding & Development

  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new small, medium-size, and inclusive suppliers, ensuring a smooth integration into organizational processes and systems.
  • Facilitate opportunities for growth and collaboration by connecting suppliers to internal stakeholders, events, and relevant initiatives.

 

Regulatory, Compliance & Governance Support

  • Support regulatory and compliance activities, including SBA reporting, subcontracting plans, external surveys, and related documentation.
  • Help track and monitor supplier inclusion budgets and commitments, ensuring alignment with internal policies and external requirements.

 

Procure-to-Pay & Operational Excellence

  • Manage invoice processing workflows, proactively identifying and resolving issues and bottlenecks to prevent delays.
  • Independently coordinate and submit precise PO requests and monitor timely progress through the procurement process.

 

External Engagement & Outreach

  • Attend outreach events, conferences, and forums to build and deepen relationships with suppliers, partners, and industry organizations.
  • Represent the company’s supplier inclusion strategy and ESG commitments, sharing key messages and insights with external stakeholders.

 

Continuous Improvement & Standardization

  • Align activities with the supplier inclusion roadmap and broader procurement strategy, leveraging data insights and an innovative mindset.
  • Actively contribute to the design, execution, and standardization of continuous process improvements, tools, and best practices.

 

Team Operations & Collaboration

  • Manage administrative operations and team logistics, including maintaining an organized inbox and tracking key deliverables and timelines.
  • Communicate workload and priorities transparently, fostering seamless cross-team collaboration and helping the team achieve shared goals.

 

Technology & Innovation

  • Explore, recommend, and help implement AI-driven and technology-enabled solutions that enhance efficiency, visibility, and innovation across supplier inclusion and procurement activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Mgmt or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related business or operations function.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting and presenting complex data sets in a clear, structured manner.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels.
  • Self-directed and highly organized; able to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and work independently with minimal instruction while proactively seeking alignment and support when needed.
  • Demonstrated interest in continuous improvement, including leveraging reporting/metrics, standardizing processes, and adopting technology and AI tools to drive better outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in procurement, supplier diversity/inclusion, ESG, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with supplier diversity reporting (e.g., Tier 1/Tier 2, SBA, subcontracting plans).
  • Experience working with procurement, sourcing, and/or data visualization tools
