Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems and build the next generation of informatics platforms, web applications, and analysis pipelines, utilizing experience with programming, web development, APIs, and data analysis.
- Design and implement databases for the web applications.
- Work directly with researchers and scientists in designing, prototyping/testing, and tuning data for data analytics and visualizations.
- Write test codes with pytest, Cypress, and Jest and perform code reviews for safety and compliance.
- Utilize expertise with computers and electronics, including computer software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development and testing of web applications and visualizations for life science.
Onsite position/2 days a week WFH eligible.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Position requires a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a related field and five (5) years of progressive, post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a software developer/engineer. Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as a software developer/engineer. With either combination of education and experience, Position requires experience with the following skills: • Three (3) years with Web Content Management stack (front end, back end, servers), including Front-End development utilizing each of the following: Typescript, ReactJS, CSS & GraphQL; • Three (3) years with Back-End development utilizing each of the following: Python, Flask, SQLAlchemy and PostgresQL; • Three (3) years of experience writing code tests with pytest, Cypress and Jest; • Three (3) years of experience implementing best practices for safe and controlled software environments; • Three (3) years of conducting code reviews for safety and compliance; • Three (3) years working with a collaborative team that utilizes spring and scrum software principles; • Three (3) years of experience developing data-intensive applications; • Three (3) years in Web app development utilizing each of the following: Typescript, ReactJS, CSS & GraphQL; • One (1) year of customer-facing experience; • One (1) year of experience communicating effectively with scientists, developers, application analysts, managers, and IT; • One (1) year of UX design experience; and • One (1) year of proficiency in using FIGMA or similar UX design tools.
Additional Information
Salary $158,974/yr per year.
