Job Description

Candidates for this position can be located in either Florham Park, NJ or Mettawa, IL. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. 

The Marketing Manager supports the development and execution of marketing plans for AbbVie’s eye care medical device. This role focuses on assisting with tactical execution, product positioning, key messaging, and brand promotion efforts under direction from senior marketing leadership. The Marketing Manager collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders such as field sales, medical affairs, clinical training, and market access to help drive brand initiatives. This individual helps prepare marketing materials, supports the launch of new campaigns, and provides administrative and analytical support to the brand team.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Support execution of strategic marketing plans in alignment with brand objectives.
  • Assist with development and delivery of marketing assets, including peer-to-peer content and rep-delivered tools.
  • Gather and analyze market data to aid in business performance analysis.
  • Help prepare unit demand forecasts and sales assumptions in collaboration with senior staff.
  • Support the preparation of reports and presentations for cross-functional teams and leadership.
  • Schedule field time to gather insights and assess marketing strategy execution.
  • Coordinate the review and approval process of marketing materials by working with legal, compliance, regulatory, and medical teams.
  • Assist with management of direct marketing expense budgets and collaborate with brand team and finance.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with sales force, key physicians, and internal teams.
  • Provide administrative brand support for national and regional congresses and society meetings.
  • Regular travel as needed (up to 50%).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Preferred familiarity with the surgical eye care space
  • Strong emotional intelligence and executive presence.
  • Proactive and solutions oriented.
  • Preferred business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Ability to execute under guidance and learn from senior team members.
  • Experience providing marketing or promotional support within healthcare.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Professional communication skills; ability to present ideas clearly.
  • Basic relationship management experience.
  • Budget or finance support experience preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Marketing experience with proof of building proficiencies in all marketing skills

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • At least 2-3 years of healthcare marketing or sales experience preferred; experience in device or buy-and-bill environments a plus.
  • Some marketing campaign or brand management experience preferred.
