Job Description

Reporting to our Data Technical Lead, this is a hands-on role for someone who is passionate about automation, AI, and solving real business challenges through technology.

As our Automation & AI Engineer, you'll work closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement, design intelligent solutions, and deliver scalable automation initiatives using Microsoft's modern technology stack.

You'll play a key role in building automated workflows, Power Apps, AI-powered assistants, and business solutions that drive efficiency and enhance the employee experience across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and support automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate and Azure Logic Apps.
  • Partner with business teams to identify repetitive, manual, or inefficient processes and develop practical automation solutions.
  • Develop Power Apps and low-code business applications that improve day-to-day operations.
  • Build and support AI-powered assistants, agents, and workflows using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Services, and related technologies.
  • Integrate Microsoft 365 and business systems using APIs, connectors, and secure integration patterns.
  • Lead solutions through the full lifecycle, from discovery and design through to deployment, support, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise standards for security, privacy, governance, and responsible AI.
  • Create and maintain solution documentation, process maps, user guides, and technical documentation.
  • Engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
  • Stay up to date with emerging automation and AI capabilities and help drive innovation across the organisation.

Qualifications

We're looking for a curious, proactive technology professional who enjoys learning, problem-solving, and turning ideas into practical solutions.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Approximately 2-3 years' experience in automation, low-code development, application development, systems integration, or a similar technical role.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Automate, including designing, building, and troubleshooting cloud flows.
  • Experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies.
  • Understanding of Microsoft 365 integrations, APIs, and connectors.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation and solution design capabilities.
  • A passion for automation, emerging technologies, and artificial intelligence.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, or AI-powered automation solutions.
  • Experience building AI agents, copilots, or intelligent assistants.
  • Knowledge of Governance, Risk, and Compliance considerations within AI environments.
  • Experience with Power Apps development.
  • Experience working with APIs, custom connectors, and systems integration.
  • Exposure to Azure cloud services.
  • Experience within healthcare or another regulated environment.
