Job Description

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Greet patients in a warm and welcoming manner, manage check-in procedures, and maintain accurate patient records and scheduling systems
  • Availability to work flexible hours is essential, including shifts between 7:15am -5:00pm, late night shift on Tuesday from 7:15-7:00pm, and alternate Saturdays as part of a rotating roster.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during clinical procedures, including instrument sterilization, patient preparation, and chairside support as and when required.
  • Schedule appointments, manage the appointment calendar, and communicate with patients regarding upcoming visits and treatment plans
  • Handle patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism, directing complex issues to appropriate staff members
  • Process patient payments, manage billing inquiries, and maintain confidentiality of all patient information
  • Perform general administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and correspondence
  • Support the dental team by anticipating needs and proactively contributing to a positive patient experience

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working in a dental office, medical facility, or customer-facing healthcare environment is preferred, however, full training will be provided for the right candidate with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Ability to follow infection control and safety protocols consistently
  • Professional demeanor with a friendly, empathetic approach to patient interactions
  • Strong communication skills are required to liaise effectively with both internal stakeholders and external stakeholders, including ACC, the Ministry of Health, and other healthcare providers.
  • Valid NZ work rights and live locally
