We are seeking an experienced Bulk Material Handling Design Engineer (Mechanical) to join our organisation in Chennai, India. In this permanent position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimising bulk material handling systems and equipment. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with analytical thinking to deliver innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and safety across our material handling operations.

The candidate will be responsible for Layout preparation, technical calculations, equipment selection, and coordinating the mechanical aspects of projects from the proposal stage through to detailed engineering.  Candidate shall have knowledge in Dust suppression, Stacker, Stacker Reclaimer, Crusher and screens.

Conversant with various conveyor related codes and standard.

• Design and develop bulk material handling equipment including conveyors, hoppers, chutes, and storage silos using advanced CAD software
• Analyse material properties and handling characteristics to optimise system design and equipment specifications
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and quality assurance to ensure designs meet operational requirements
• Perform equipment modelling and simulation to predict performance and identify potential improvements
• Evaluate and recommend design modifications based on testing results and operational feedback
• Ensure all designs adhere to relevant Indian industrial standards and international best practices
• Support the procurement process by providing technical specifications and liaising with equipment suppliers
• Maintain organised project documentation and maintain records of design iterations and approvals

B Tech. Mechanical Engineering

**Required Skills and Experience:**

• Proficiency in mechanical design software  BELT ANALYST and CAD software (AutoCAD, CATIA, or SolidWorks)
• Demonstrated experience in designing bulk material handling systems and equipment
• Strong knowledge of conveyor systems, hoppers, chutes, and storage solutions
• Solid understanding of material science and mechanical engineering principles
• Experience with technical documentation and preparation of engineering drawings
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and safety regulations
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

**Desirable Skills and Experience:**

• Experience with ANSYS or similar advanced simulation software
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment optimisation techniques
• Familiarity with Indian industrial standards and local regulatory requirements
• Experience in project management and cross-functional team collaboration
• Background in bulk material handling industry or related sectors

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• 2+ years of experience in Bulk Material handling Engg jobs
