The project involves developing and updating CMM programs across multiple software platforms, verifying them against engineering specifications, conducting statistical R&R studies, and reviewing legacy inspection methods. The work is critical to ensuring components are measured with accuracy, traceability, and in compliance with industry standards, and will be delivered primarily on-site in Gloucester.

Key responsibilities:

  • Create new and update existing CMM programs to current SLS standards (MODUS and CAMIO platforms).
  • Ensure correct file naming conventions, folder structure, and code formatting.
  • Verify all CMM programs against CAD models, 2D prints, and engineering drawings.
  • Generate validation reports confirming program accuracy and design compliance.
  • Conduct Gauge Repeatability & Reproducibility (R&R) studies to assess system precision.
  • Modernise and document legacy programs for long-term maintainability.
  • Recommend alternative inspection methods for features not suitable for CMM (e.g., vision systems, laser scanning).

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metrology, or similar.
  • Proven CMM programming experience using MODUS and CAMIO.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD data.
