Corporate Reporting Accountant (12 Month Fixed-Term Contract)
- Full-time
- Business Areas: Finance and Commercial
- Location: Manchester
- Department: Finance
Job Description
A 12-month opportunity has become available for a recently qualified or early post-qualified accountant to join our Corporate Reporting team within a growing and ambitious FTSE 250 business.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the storytelling and governance side of corporate reporting and wants to build their experience in a visible, externally focused role. You will gain exposure to senior stakeholders and play an active part in writing and shaping our Annual and Half Year Reports, ensuring our financial, strategic and ESG disclosures are clear, consistent and aligned to our commercial strategy.
Working closely with colleagues across Finance, Legal, Risk and the wider business, you will gather information, draft disclosures and coordinate inputs to produce high-quality external reporting. This is a great opportunity to deepen your understanding of listed company reporting requirements while developing strong drafting and stakeholder management skills.
If you are organised, detail focused and keen to build your experience in corporate reporting within a regulated environment, this role will offer broad exposure and meaningful responsibility from day one.
Key Responsibilities

- Assist in shaping the Strategic Report, ensuring messaging is clear, commercially aligned and compliant
- Draft and review key sections of the Annual Report, including governance, risk and regulatory disclosures
- Coordinate inputs from stakeholders across the business to ensure consistency and quality of messaging
- Prepare papers and supporting documentation for the Audit Committee and external auditors
- Monitor developments in corporate reporting regulation and best practice, ensuring ongoing compliance
- Draft technical accounting and reporting papers explaining the impact of new standards, focusing on clarity of communication rather than calculation
ESG & Sustainability Reporting
- Support the drafting of ESG disclosures, including TCFD and other regulatory requirements
- Coordinate ESG data inputs from across the business to ensure accurate and consistent reporting
- Assist in the preparation of ESG dashboards and reporting updates
- Help ensure ESG reporting is aligned to regulatory expectations and industry best practice
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Support ad hoc reporting and disclosure projects
- Contribute to improvements in reporting processes and controls
- Maintain a strong understanding of our business model, strategy and market positioning to ensure external reporting reflects the organisation accurately
