Job Description

AHRC New York City is seeking Day Program Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for our Day programs in All five boroughs. The pay rate for this position is between $18- $19 depending on driving status plus an excellent benefit package which includes: Medical at NO cost to you!, dental and vision plans, generous paid time off, tuition assistance, 403b with company match, opportunity for growth within the agency and more!

Weekly Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8am to 4pm

Responsibilities:

Supports individual with disabilities in becoming valued members of their communities.

Supports behavior that enhances inclusion in their communities.

Provide direct training and support in individuals’ home and/or community.

Empowers individual and their family by providing the support and information necessary to make informed choices and decisions.

Helps build the self–esteem and assertiveness necessary to lead a self-determining life.

Use formal and informal methods to learn about the needs, interests and desires of individual.

Assists individual in identifying the formal and informal supports available in his/her community, family and social network and works with the individual to develop and sustain relationships with friends, family and community members

 

Qualifications

One year experience supporting individuals with disabilities, preferred.

High School diploma or GED 

Licensed Driver is preferred…not required.
