Job Description

In line with our growing business, we are seeking energy professionals with strong consultancy experience to support the development and delivery of LNG and broader energy projects across Asia.

As part of AFRY’s interconnected energy team, you will provide technical advisory and consultancy services across the project development lifecycle, with a strong focus on feasibility studies, technical due diligence, concept development, and preparation of high-quality consultancy reports and proposals.

The role will involve leading and contributing to feasibility studies, option assessments, technical due diligence assignments, and conceptual engineering, activities for LNG, LNG-to-Power, and related energy infrastructure projects. You will be expected to evaluate technical alternatives, assess project risks and constraints, develop recommendations, and translate complex engineering findings into clear and structured reports for clients, investors, lenders, and project developers.

Experience with onshore and floating LNG terminals, LNG regasification facilities, LNG-to-Power developments, and associated interfaces with power generation facilities would be highly advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related technical discipline from a recognized university. An MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification in business, management  would be highly regarded.
  • 6–10 years of relevant experience in technical consultancy within the LNG Import terminal, FSRU, FSU, LNG-to-Power, and broader energy sectors.
  • Strong experience in delivering Feasibility Studies (FS), Concept Studies, Technical Due Diligence (TDD), technical advisory, and Owner’s Engineering assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate onshore and floating LNG terminal concepts, including FSRU/FSU solutions, FSRU conversions, LNG storage and unloading facilities, regasification systems, BOG handling systems, topside facilities, and interfaces with power plants and associated infrastructure.
  • Strong capability in technology and concept evaluation, option screening, technical/commercial comparison, risk assessment, CAPEX/OPEX evaluation, and development of practical recommendations to support clients’ investment and project-development decisions.
  • Proven experience in preparing high-quality feasibility study reports, technical due diligence reports, concept study reports, technical memoranda, decision papers, and client presentations.
  • Experience in consultancy proposal development, including understanding client requirements, developing scopes of work and methodologies, estimating man-hours, coordinating multidisciplinary inputs, and preparing technical and commercial proposals.
  • Ability to engage directly with clients, project developers, investors, lenders, partners, contractors, and other stakeholders, and effectively communicate technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong understanding of LNG process engineering, with the ability to develop and/or review PFDs, P&IDs, Heat and Material Balances, design philosophies, process calculations, equipment sizing, hydraulic calculations, and design basis documentation.
  • Good knowledge of applicable international codes, standards, regulations, and industry practices related to LNG, gas processing, process design, and process safety.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with limited or developing project information, identify key assumptions and risks, and formulate clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • Ability to manage multiple consultancy assignments, multidisciplinary interfaces, priorities, schedules, and client expectations within an international working environment.
  • Excellent technical report writing, presentation, and English communication skills.
  • Previous experience with a reputable international engineering consultancy, technical advisory firm, or engineering company is preferred.
  • Experience or willingness to support Green Hydrogen, Green Ammonia, Power-to-X, CCS/CCUS, and other energy-transition projects would be an advantage.
  • Candidates based in the Philippines will be preferred.
  • The position will be based at AFRY’s Manila office, Philippines.
