Make a Meaningful Impact – Help Australia Fight Scams Through Education
As scams continue to evolve and impact Australians, AFCA is launching a major enterprise initiative to uplift scam‑related capability across our organisation. We’re looking for a Senior Training Consultant to lead the learning and training strategy that will support this vital work.
This is initially a 12-month fixed term role.
About the Role
As our Senior Training Consultant, you will be the subject‑matter expert responsible for shaping, designing, and delivering AFCA’s end‑to‑end learning experience for our Scams EDR project.
You’ll work with a talented, fun and collaborative team to create innovative, high‑quality training that empowers our people to better support consumers and financial firms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive learning strategy and training roadmap for the Scams transformation program.
- Conduct training needs analysis using insights from change impact assessments.
- Design and develop engaging content across multiple learning modalities (F2F, hybrid, virtual).
- Build workshops ranging from 90‑minute sessions to multi‑day programs with pre‑ and post‑learning components.
- Partner with SMEs to translate complex information into accessible, scalable learning outcomes.
- Continuously iterate and enhance training materials using feedback and testing.
- Provide specialist advice on instructional design, learning best practice, and digital learning techniques.
- Identify opportunities to uplift AFCA’s learning offering and ensure training is impactful, future‑ready and user‑centric.

Qualifications
You will ideally have the following:
- several years’ experience in training, learning design and digital content development.
- Proven ability to build end‑to‑end learning plans, roadmaps and storyboards.
- Expertise across adult learning principles, blended learning and instructional design best practice.
- Experience delivering training in large or complex transformation programs.
- Proficiency with authoring tools and digital learning technologies (e.g. Articulate, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Snagit).
- A strong visual design sensibility and a creative, user‑centric mindset.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- A proactive, self‑driven approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of Change Management and Project Management methodologies.
