Job Description

​​​​​​​AECOM is seeking enthusiastic and experienced professionals with a background in technical delivery who are looking to further develop their careers in project and design management. 

In joining our team, you will lead multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of some of Australia's most innovative and exciting transportation, bridges, structures and maritime projects. You will combine technical excellence with project leadership, helping to deliver high-quality outcomes for our clients while supporting the development of junior team members. 

  • Lead and manage components of the delivery of, or entire multidisciplinary bridge, civil structures and maritime infrastructure projects, depending on project size and complexity. 
  • Manage project scope, programme, resources, commercial performance, quality and risk in accordance with project objectives. 
  • Coordinate project teams across multiple disciplines to ensure efficient and integrated project delivery. 
  • Act as a key client interface, building trusted relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders to support successful project outcomes. 
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for design, inspection, assessment and rehabilitation projects. 
  • Monitor project performance, identify delivery risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies where required. 
  • Lead and contribute to the preparation of proposals, fee estimates and work-winning activities. 
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and project delivery staff. 
  • Champion safe, sustainable and high-quality project delivery practices. 

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years' experience delivering transportation, bridges, civil structures and/or maritime infrastructure projects. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent) 
  • Chartered Engineer (CPEng) status and/or registration as a Professional Engineer, or actively working towards registration. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating technical inputs from multiple disciplines. 
  • Experience managing project scope, schedule, resources and budgets on engineering consultancy or infrastructure projects. 
  • Strong understanding of project delivery, project lifecycle management and commercial project controls. 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify project risks and opportunities and drive positive project outcomes. 
  • Experience in bridge, structural asset management, inspection, assessment, rehabilitation and/or design projects. 
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and contribute to business development activities. 
  • Experience preparing proposals, fee submissions and technical reports. 
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills. 
  • Experience working with state government, transport agencies, port authorities or major infrastructure clients would be advantageous.
