AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer – Water/Sewer Compliance Coordinator to support the Chicago Department of Water’s multi-billion Capital Improvement Program (CIP). This is a key position within the Water Main Design task for Water/Sewer compliance coordinating engineer and corrective work actions.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Collaborate with the team to implement and update DWM/IEPA-related compliance and corrective work action templates as needed.
• Execute IEPA Title 35 compliance audit on incoming Force Account applicant jobs and ensuring adherence to IEPA Title 35 regulations and DWM standards.
• Maintain all Title 35 records in place and update regularly.
• Provide administrative support for Title 35 compliance and corrective work tasks.
• Assist WM Group with project records by coordinating with records department and BES Sewer department when needed.
• Attending the Title 35 pre-construction meetings and assisting with agenda deliveries if needed. 
• Can be responsible for one or more moderately upcoming Sewer and Water infrastructure projects for T35 Audit Review.
• Works under the supervision of the Water/Sewer Compliance Manager, receives basic instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
• Compliance and corrective actions closeout reports.

Minimum Requirements

• BA/BS + none or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check in accordance with company policy.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental/water resources engineering or construction management or a related discipline
• 2+ years of water main and/or sewer utility design and/or field experience.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of IEPA water and sewer regulations, utility standards, and department specifications preferred.
• Experience in working on municipal water and/or utility projects
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Experience working with SharePoint, document management systems and template-based workflows preferred.
• Team-oriented professional with strong communication skills across departments.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability within a collaborative team environment.
