Job Description

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a dynamic, talented Infrastructure Project Manager for immediate employment to be based out of our Virginia Beach, VA office. Candidate will manage, plan and lead projects supporting complex water/wastewater treatment plant upgrades and associated infrastructure. The appropriate qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in delivering complex infrastructure projects.  This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an established and successful group that offers a diverse range of technical challenges and career development opportunities. 

The successful candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with project team members and across multiple organizations, have a high level of initiative and motivation to deliver quality results, have strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to provide value-added solutions and maintain strong relationships in a collaborative delivery environment acting as the Owner’s Advisor.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage water and wastewater projects from planning, design, procurement, construction and through commissioning phase.
  • Responsibility of the project, including but not limited to financial performance, schedule, staffing, execution, and contract closeout.
  • Provides guidance to subcontractors.
  • Ensure company project policies are followed.
  • Participation in water community activities including Water Environment Federation.
  • Supports business development activities, pursuing new clients/projects, and managing project deliveries as required.
  • Leads with an interest in developing and mentoring team members and demonstrated ability to successfully work in diverse teams and projects.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Environmental Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Demonstrated knowledge of water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations, collection and distribution systems and client/consultant relations experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • 7+ years of relevant experience as a Project Manager within an engineering consulting firm
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Ability to proactively lead technical efforts and project team staff
  • Strong communication skills and experience working directly with clients
  • Experience on large scale projects
