Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Materials Inspector to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and compliance of all construction materials used in our projects. As a Materials Inspector, you will be responsible for verifying that materials meet approved specifications, contract requirements, and local Saudi Arabian standards. Your meticulous attention to detail, collaborative approach, and commitment to excellence will directly contribute to the success of our construction initiatives and the delivery of high-quality projects.

  • Inspect and verify all construction materials delivered to project sites to ensure compliance with approved specifications, material submittals, and contract requirements
  • Review and validate material source approvals, delivery documentation, batch certificates, and laboratory test reports prior to acceptance and site utilization
  • Conduct sampling and witness laboratory and field testing for concrete, aggregates, steel, asphalt, soil, and other construction materials in accordance with approved inspection and test plans
  • Verify that all materials used in construction work conform to approved specifications, drawings, and Saudi Arabian regulatory standards
  • Monitor the storage, handling, and protection of materials to prevent contamination, damage, segregation, or deterioration
  • Confirm compliance with approved suppliers, manufacturers, and testing laboratories as per project requirements
  • Collaborate with Material Engineers and Site Engineers to coordinate testing schedules, material approvals, and resolve material-related issues
  • Inspect concrete paving, asphalt works, earthworks, and backfilling operations to ensure correct materials and workmanship standards are maintained
  • Prepare and submit Work Inspection Requests and inspection documentation related to materials and civil works activities
  • Maintain comprehensive and organized inspection records, test results, and material logs for quality assurance, quality control, and as-built documentation
  • Identify non-conforming materials, raise Non-Conformance Reports, and follow up on corrective actions to ensure compliance
  • Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment requirements during all material handling, sampling, and testing activities
  • Monitor material usage and quantities to prevent wastage, misuse, or deviation from approved specifications
  • Support project audits and inspections by providing required documentation and on-site assistance
  • Report daily site activities, material inspection findings, and testing status to the Material Engineer and Resident Engineer

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in materials inspection, quality assurance, or quality control within the construction industry
  • Bachelor's degree (BEng) or Master's degree (MEng) in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabian construction standards, local authority procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong technical understanding of construction materials including concrete, aggregates, steel, asphalt, and soil properties
  • Proficiency in material testing standards, specifications, and inspection methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Strong presentation and documentation skills with the ability to prepare clear and comprehensive inspection reports
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and maintain detailed inspection records and quality control documentation
  • Solid understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment protocols and best practices in construction
  • Proficiency in identifying non-conformances and implementing corrective actions
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and make decisive judgments regarding material acceptance or rejection
  • Familiarity with construction project management software and digital documentation systems (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to multiple project sites as required
