Job Description

The Senior Engineer - Transportation is responsible for executing specific and moderate portions of broader transportation engineering assignments while leveraging project management controls (PMC) and design background expertise. This role requires a professional with demonstrated experience in design methodology and project controls who can independently manage engineering deliverables from conception through completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gathers and correlates engineering data using established procedures and applies design background knowledge to inform analysis and recommendations.

  • Performs detailed engineering assignments involving calculations, testing, and design documentation with proficiency in design methodology and standards.
  • Develops and proposes engineering approaches to solve new problems by modifying standard procedures, drawing on design background and project experience.
  • Manages project elements in accordance with agreed-upon budget, schedule, and project controls (PMC) requirements with minimal supervision.
  • Independently performs all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works, including design reviews and design documentation.
  • Applies project management controls to track progress, identify discrepancies in results, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Provides technical guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers on design methodology, engineering procedures, and project controls best practices.
  • Maintains design documentation and project records in compliance with PMC standards and organizational requirements.

     

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in transportation engineering, design, or project management
  • Minimum 5 years of direct work experience in Saudi Arabia (KSA)
  • Demonstrated expertise in transportation engineering design methodology and standards
  • Proven proficiency with project management controls (PMC) systems and tools
  • Strong experience in engineering calculations, testing, and design documentation
  • Solid understanding of budget management, schedule control, and project delivery
  • Experience conducting design reviews and maintaining compliance with engineering standards
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple engineering deliverables simultaneously
  • Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent engineering credential
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and design tools

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with project controls software and enterprise project management platforms
  • Demonstrated track record of mentoring and developing junior engineering staff
  • Experience on large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects in the Middle East region
  • Knowledge of Saudi Arabian building codes, regulations, and engineering standards
  • Professional certifications in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or engineering specializations
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and advanced design software
