Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Document Controller to join our construction team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, organizing, and controlling project documentation using the ACONEX platform. You will play a critical role in ensuring that all construction documents are properly maintained, tracked, and accessible to project stakeholders. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency with document management systems in a fast-paced construction environment.

  • Manage and maintain all project documentation within the ACONEX platform, ensuring accurate filing, indexing, and retrieval
  • Control document workflows, including document submission, review, approval, and distribution processes
  • Perform data entry and record management tasks with precision and accuracy
  • Monitor document status and track revisions to ensure version control and compliance
  • Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and consultants to collect and organize construction-related documents
  • Generate reports and documentation summaries as required by project management
  • Ensure all documents comply with project specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Support project coordination activities by maintaining organized document repositories
  • Respond to document requests from team members and stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Identify and resolve documentation discrepancies and inconsistencies
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive project information

Qualifications

  • Degree preferred but not essential; relevant certifications in document control are an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a construction supervision or engineering design consultancy.
  • Proven experience with Aconex on large-scale building, or commercial projects is essential.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • Knowledge of construction documentation standards and practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a structured, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with document control procedures and workflows
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Familiarity with building construction processes and terminology
  • Experience working on construction projects in the United Arab Emirates
  • Knowledge of additional project management or document control software platforms
