Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Plumbing Engineer to join our Plumbing Engineering Team in Bogotá, D.C. This position is crucial to enhancing our plumbing systems design capabilities within our Enterprise Capabilities Office in Colombia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of plumbing and hydraulic systems for infrastructure projects and large-scale buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of foul drainage systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
- Design and optimize hot and cold water piping systems for large-scale infrastructure and building projects.
- Design pumped water supply, foul drainage, rainwater drainage, and rainwater harvesting systems.
- Design and integrate greywater recycling systems into existing and new infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure hydraulic designs are seamlessly integrated into overall project plans.
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports and design documentation to stakeholders.
- Design drainage systems for mechanical equipment, including HVAC systems, humidifiers, cooling units, and other building services equipment.
- Prepare resource estimates, including engineering hours and staffing requirements, for the execution of plumbing and hydraulic system designs for buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Develop design deliverables plans, including schedules, milestones, and documentation requirements, for plumbing and hydraulic system designs for buildings and infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in plumbing or hydraulic engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects and large-scale buildings.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD, with hands-on experience using hydraulic calculation tools.
- Proficiency in software such as EPANET, Revit MEP, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of local and international plumbing and drainage standards.
- Proven experience delivering projects in a BIM environment, including the development and coordination of models at LOD 300 or higher.
- Full professional proficiency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal); bilingual communication skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Experience with sustainable design practices and technologies.
- Proven track record of leading complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Proven expertise in plumbing design for data centers.
- Proven expertise in plumbing design for LEED-certified projects.
- Expertise in fire suppression system design, including clean agent, water mist, wet and dry systems, fire pumps, tanks, fire hydrants, and fire water distribution systems.
- Experience using Bentley OpenBuildings Designer and MicroStation for the development and coordination of plumbing and hydraulic systems in BIM environments.
