Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Resident Engineer – Marine Works & Reclamation to lead the supervision and delivery of major marine infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will oversee all site activities related to marine works, land reclamation, shoreline protection, marine edge structures, and associated coastal infrastructure, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
The Senior Resident Engineer will lead the site supervision team, coordinate with the Client, Contractor, Design Consultant, and relevant authorities, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the approved construction program.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the site supervision team for marine works, reclamation, and marine edge construction projects.
* Supervise all construction activities related to land reclamation, dredging, hydraulic filling, marine edge structures, revetments, quay walls, breakwaters, seawalls, sheet piling, and shoreline protection works.
* Ensure construction is carried out in accordance with contract documents, approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
* Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, temporary works, and marine construction methodologies.
* Coordinate with Clients, Contractors, Designers, and government authorities to resolve technical, contractual, and construction issues.
* Monitor project progress, construction schedules, and resource allocation to ensure timely project delivery.
* Conduct regular inspections to verify workmanship, construction quality, and compliance with project requirements.
* Oversee marine dredging, reclamation filling operations, compaction, geotechnical improvement works, and marine edge construction activities.
* Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, marine permits, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements throughout project execution.
* Administer construction contracts, review variations, claims, extension of time submissions, and certify completed works.
* Lead project meetings and prepare technical reports, progress reports, and construction documentation.
* Coordinate interfaces with utilities, coastal protection systems, navigation requirements, and other infrastructure disciplines.
* Support testing, commissioning, project close-out, and final handover activities
Qualifications
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
* Min 20 years of experience with proven experience in the supervision and delivery of major marine infrastructure, reclamation, and coastal development projects.
* Strong technical knowledge of dredging, land reclamation, hydraulic filling, marine edge structures, quay walls, seawalls, breakwaters, revetments, sheet piling, and shoreline protection works.
* Sound understanding of marine geotechnical engineering, coastal construction methodologies, and temporary marine works.
* Familiarity with FIDIC Conditions of Contract and construction contract administration.
* Strong knowledge of UAE construction standards, coastal regulations, environmental requirements, and relevant international marine engineering codes.
* Demonstrated leadership and experience managing multidisciplinary site supervision teams.
* Excellent project management, planning, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong technical report writing, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
* Experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and construction documentation.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple project priorities.
