Job Description

We are currently seeking a Project Planning & Scheduling Specialist to join the team delivering an inspirational sports and entertainment legacy across Queensland.

AECOM has been appointed by the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) as the Delivery Partner for the $7.1bn Games Venues Infrastructure Program.

This achievement is celebrated with our joint venture partner Laing O’Rourke, a strategic team formed to support the delivery of 17 new and upgrades sport, recreation, and entertainment venues across Queensland for 2032 and beyond.

As a Project Planning & Scheduling Specialist at AECOM, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring timely project delivery, and optimizing resource allocation. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules using industry-standard software.
  • Collaborate with project managers and teams to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Conduct regular schedule reviews and updates, identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts.
  • Analyze schedule performance and provide insights on potential risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare and present schedule reports and updates to stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development of project plans and resource allocation strategies.
  • Implement best practices in project scheduling and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the project team in understanding scheduling methodologies and processes.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Proven track record of managing complex project schedules and delivering on time.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently.
