Job Description
Role Summary
Responsible for inspecting and monitoring rail tunnel construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, railway standards, and HSE regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect rail tunnel works including TBM excavation, segmental lining, grouting, waterproofing, cross passages, shafts, track bed construction, and associated civil works.
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with approved method statements, ITPs, quality requirements, and construction sequences.
- Verify materials, workmanship, testing, and installation activities in accordance with project specifications and railway standards.
- Monitor TBM operations, segment erection, alignment, settlement monitoring, and ground movement control measures.
- Maintain daily site records and report on progress, quality issues, and non-conformities.
- Witness inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and client representatives to resolve site issues and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and tunnel safety procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- 7 to 10 years of construction inspection experience on major rail, metro, or underground infrastructure projects.
- Mandatory experience on TBM tunnel projects
- Strong knowledge of tunnel construction, railway standards, QA/QC procedures, and HSE requirements.
- Experience on High Speed Rail or metro projects is preferred.
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Civil or Railway Engineering (or equivalent).
