Job Description
AECOM’s Acoustics group based in Mississauga, ON, is seeking an engineering/technologist graduate with an interest in acoustics and vibration to join our team. This is a new position.
You will be working with a close-knit team of engineers and specialists to support management of our fleet of measurement and monitoring equipment, and prepare analysis and recommendations in a range of fields, such as industrial environmental compliance, transportation planning (railways/highways), construction, architectural acoustics and mechanical noise and vibration control. You will interact with multidisciplinary teams within AECOM and with external clients and agencies.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Site work including noise and vibration measurements, logger set up, and site reviews
- Acoustics, noise and vibration calculations and software modelling
- Assessment of acoustics, noise and vibration impacts and development of design solutions
- Review of architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural and civil drawings and design documents
- Preparation of technical documents
- Working with internal teams and external clients
- Ensuring accuracy and quality of technical information and project documentation
- Work in accordance with AECOM’s Safety, Health & Environment and Quality Management System policies
Qualifications
Must Have Skills/Experience (Including any required Certifications):
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Engineering Technology, or related subject with at least one course in Vibration
- Ontario Driver’s license
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
- Client/service-focused
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with others
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Eligibility for licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, including completion of an accredited engineering degree and relevant work experience under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), or certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT)
- Work experience in a consulting engineering firm
- CAD skills/experience – e.g. AutoCAD, Revit
- Programming skills/experience – e.g. MATLAB
- GIS skills/experience – e.g. ArcGIS
