Job Description

AECOM is looking for an experienced and motivated leader within the Victorian Environmental industry, ready to accelerate their career leading one of the largest and most diverse contaminated land businesses in Australia and New Zealand.

As Group Manager – Geosciences and Remediation Services, you will spearhead our Victorian team to deliver and expand a robust pipeline of transformative projects across key markets, including Energy, Defence, Transport, and Water. Our Environment team delivers advisory and technical services across contamination assessment and remediation, approvals and permitting, environmental planning, and sustainability, working on projects spanning infrastructure, energy, transport and defence. You’ll be a leader within a multidisciplinary group solving complex environmental challenges alongside our technical specialists.

  • Build your leadership: Lead and inspire a committed, high-performing team of 60+ professional across a diverse portfolio to drive technical delivery excellence and strategic growth both within Victoria and throughout Australia.
  • Innovate and transform: Be the catalyst for change: introduce new ideas, leverage our extensive global practice, and implement advanced strategies to lead our GRS business into the future.
  • Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and industry partners to ensure alignment and satisfaction. Your ability to engage effectively will drive business growth and enhance AECOM’s reputation in the industry.
  • Client Engagement: Lead initiatives that strengthen client relationships, identifying opportunities for collaboration and innovative solutions to meet their evolving needs. Your expertise will position AECOM as a trusted advisor in environmental services.
  • Business Growth: Strategically grow our Geosciences and Remediation Services (GRS) business by leveraging market insights and client feedback. Introduce new ideas and advanced strategies that enhance operational effectiveness and expand our service offerings.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in environmental industry
  • Strong connections within the environmental sector, allowing for effective collaboration and engagement with clients, stakeholders, and industry leaders. Your network will be instrumental in identifying new opportunities and partnerships.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that enable you to effectively engage with clients, articulate complex ideas clearly, and foster meaningful relationships. Your ability to connect with diverse audiences will enhance client satisfaction and collaboration.
  • A proven track record of building, leading, and nurturing high-performing teams. Your leadership style should inspire creativity, encourage collaboration, and empower team members to achieve their full potential while driving exceptional outcomes.
  • Strong commercial and strategic judgement, balancing client outcomes, risk and profitability
