Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Transport Planning Senior Assistant to support international road design and infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on the UK & Ireland and US markets. Based in Poland, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop transport strategies, analyse traffic flows, and contribute to the planning of efficient and sustainable road networks.
Key Responsibilities:
Being accountable for traffic engineering and transport planning, modelling delivery on a range of transport projects.
Contribute to technical projects/reports, drawings, and presentations under guidance from senior staff.
Participate in traffic design installations for junctions, pedestrian crossings design, traffic signals schemes etc.
Working on Intelligent Transportation Systems ITS or Traffic Engineering & Operations TEO or Traffic Management Center TMC projects.
Support feasibility studies, impact assessments, or mobility planning.
Collaborate with engineering, urban planning, and environmental teams on international projects.
Participate in project meetings and coordinate with global teams across time zones.
Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in transport planning methodologies.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Transport Systems Engineering.
3-5 years of relevant experience in transport planning/modelling.
Experience in transportation planning studies, traffic analysis or modelling, as well as the design of transportation or traffic infrastructure.
Experience in relevant software such as: PTV VISUM, VISSIM or SATURN or Synchro or Sidra or Junctions or LinSIG.
Familiarity with US or UK & Ireland transportation planning standards (e.g., FHWA, AASHTO, DFT/Highways England Standards, TSM Chapter 6 etc.).
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Communication skills in English (written and spoken).
Ability to work in international, cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Transport Systems or Civil Engineering from Politechnika Warszawska or WAT or relevant University.
Experience with design software such as LinSIG, PTV VISUM, VISSIM.
Certification in transport planning or traffic engineering (e.g., Certificate of Professional Competence in Transport, postgraduate studies in transport infrastructure etc.).
Knowledge of sustainable mobility planning and smart transport systems.
Experience working on UK&Ireland/US DOT-funded projects or similar international infrastructure programs will be considered favorably.
