Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Transportation Technical Lead to join our NJ office. The incumbent will work on a variety of Transportation projects throughout the NJ region.
Responsibilities include:
• Local expert on providing technical leadership in a specialty area, often for a district.
- Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs and applications.
- Interprets, organizes, executes and coordinates assignments.
- Makes decisions independently on technical problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.
- Applies advanced or state-of-the-art knowledge and experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions. The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work usually results from progressive experience.
- Supervision received is essentially administrative, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
- Mentors and develops junior technical staff, fostering professional growth and knowledge transfer within the transportation discipline.
- Oversees project delivery, ensuring technical excellence, adherence to schedules, and compliance with regulatory standards and client requirements.
- Manages stakeholder relationships and client communications, providing technical guidance and recommendations on complex transportation initiatives.
- Establishes and maintains technical standards, best practices, and quality assurance protocols to ensure consistency across projects and deliverables.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives and evaluates emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance organizational capabilities and competitive advantage.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Must have experience working with NJ Turnpike Authority and NJ DOT projects
- Must have Project Management Experience Supporting NJ Agency Clients
Preferred Qualifications:
- 20+ years of experience
- Specialize in Project Management, NJDOT Capital Project Delivery Process, NJDOT Standards/guidelines, NJ Transit and, Port Authority Experience
