The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and dry utilities, with expertise in BIM, local authority guidelines, and end-to-end project delivery from concept to IFC stage. This role requires exceptional technical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills to ensure the successful execution of multidisciplinary projects

  • Lead the design and approval process, interfacing with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Manage the development of master plans, including utility corridor space proofing, ROW coordination, and collaboration with wet, roads, transportation, landscape, and building teams.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, calculations, and reports for authority approvals, ensuring compliance with local authority and town planning requirements.
  • Oversee the design of electrical systems and dry utilities using software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, ProjectWise, Infraworks, Navisworks, and BIM tools.
  • Ensure the quality, safety, and accuracy of all deliverables, maintaining updated risk mitigation and design assumption registers.

Technical Expertise

  • Develop master plan reports, demand load calculations, tie-in point requirements, and power supply master plans.
  • Design and review dry utilities infrastructure, including MV, HV, and EHV corridors up to 400kV, as well as substations, feeder pillars, and LV networks.
  • Prepare and review telecommunication infrastructure designs, including ducts, manholes, GSM tower requirements, and MMR/POP rooms.
  • Design and review street lighting systems for all road types, including ROW, lighting calculations, SLDs, load schedules, and landscape lighting.
  • Conduct power system studies using software such as ETAP, Amtech, and Dialux, including load flow analysis, short circuit studies, harmonic analysis, and transient/steady-state analysis.

Stakeholder and Authority Coordination

  • Obtain authority approvals with minimal revisions by coordinating with local authorities and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review clarifications to contractor RFIs and approve key technical submittals related to electrical works and dry utilities.
  • Attend client meetings to gather information, discuss project requirements, and present technical solutions in a professional and competent manner.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Manage and mentor electrical engineers and CAD technicians across geographically and culturally diverse teams.
  • Foster effective working environments, nurture relationships, and promote digitalization, innovation, and workload management across projects.
  • Report effectively to line managers and project managers, ensuring seamless coordination with all relevant disciplines.

Qualifications

  • In-depth understanding of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, UAE, KSA, and Qatar authority guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of dry utilities and infrastructure projects from concept to IFC stage.
  • Expertise in primary substations, MV, HV, and EHV corridors, and telecommunication infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in BIM and relevant software such as Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ProjectWise, Infraworks, Navisworks, ETAP, Amtech, and Dialux.

Experience

  • Proven experience in infrastructure engineering, including utility corridor space proofing, ROW coordination, and demand load calculations.
