Job Description
Due to continued growth in our Sydney aviation team and a strong pipeline of airport infrastructure projects across NSW and ANZ, we’re looking to bring on a Principal Civil Engineer – Aviation Pavements to help lead and shape our expanding capability.
This is a key role within a growing team, where you’ll work on major airfield projects including runways, taxiways and aprons, while also playing a part in mentoring emerging talent and strengthening our presence in the Sydney aviation market.
As part of a growing Sydney-based aviation team, you will:
Lead the technical delivery of complex airfield pavement projects, including runways, taxiways and aprons across Sydney, NSW and the broader ANZ region
Act as a trusted technical lead, providing guidance on pavement design, rehabilitation strategies and airfield compliance (ICAO, CASA, FAA)
Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring quality, consistency and timely delivery across all project phases
Build strong relationships with key aviation clients, contributing to repeat work, extensions and new project opportunities
Support and contribute to bids and proposals, bringing practical delivery insight and helping position AECOM for key aviation pursuits
Mentor and develop junior to mid-level engineers, helping grow capability within the Sydney aviation and pavements team
Balance technical delivery with project leadership responsibilities, including oversight of scope, program and commercial performance
Contribute to the ongoing growth of the Sydney aviation team, sharing knowledge, improving processes and strengthening our market presence
