Job Description
Aecom’s looking for a seasoned Rolling Stock Expert - Electrical to join our team and lead the electrical design, development, and integration of rolling stock systems for metro rail projects. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to metro rail projects. This role requires deep technical expertise in electrical systems, a strong understanding of metro rolling stock requirements, and the ability to deliver high-quality solutions within project timelines.
Job Duties:
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of electrical systems for rolling stock, including propulsion systems, traction motors, auxiliary power systems, and onboard electrical equipment.
- Prepare and review electrical design specifications, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Ensure designs meet project requirements, industry standards, and client expectations.
- Oversee the integration of electrical systems with other rolling stock subsystems such as mechanical, signaling, and communication systems.
- Manage interfaces with external systems, including trackside equipment, power supply systems, and depot facilities.
- Conduct detailed technical analyses, including load flow, fault analysis, and energy efficiency studies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design and integration issues to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with international and local standards, including EN, IEC, IEEE, and other applicable codes.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the testing, validation, and commissioning of electrical systems in rolling stock.
- Analyze test results, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary modifications to meet performance criteria.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including design reports, test plans, and issue logs.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment on electrical design requirements and deliverables.
- Provide technical support during procurement, manufacturing, and delivery phases.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
Qualifications
Graduate in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, or related discipline).
Additional Information
- Minimum 15 years of total professional experience in engineering roles.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in metro rail projects, specifically in rolling stock electrical systems.
