Job Description

The Technical Director – MEP (HVAC Focus) will lead and champion technical excellence across all MEP disciplines, with a strong emphasis on HVAC systems. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in large-scale building projects and a proven track record of working with Industry leading competitors in the Design & Consultancy space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership:
    • Support, oversee, and coordinate engineering production activities for the operating unit.
    • Make authoritative decisions and recommendations on complex technical matters.
    • Represent the organization as a trusted subject matter expert to regional clients.
    • Initiate and maintain contact with senior-level management within the company.
    • Skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues.
    • Provide unfiltered feedback and course correction where needed — with freedom to act for best outcomes.
  • Technical Excellence:
    • Champion technical quality in HVAC and MEP disciplines across all projects.
    • Shape guidance, standards, and best practices for mechanical systems.
    • Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving operational challenges.
  • Project Delivery:
    • Ensure compliance with project delivery requirements and client expectations.
    • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Mentorship:
    • Support mentoring, upskilling, and capability development within the mechanical engineering domain.
    • Develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 25 years of experience of working on building projects based in the Middle East, with strong HVAC expertise.
  • Proven leadership in technical direction and project delivery.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under broad general objectives with minimal supervision.
