Job Description

We embrace world class methodologies and technologies, including information rich Building Information Modelling (BIM), energy modelling and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to facilitate more efficient ways of working and design at all stages of the project life-cycle.

As part of our continued growth, we are looking to hire an inspirational MEP Project & Design Manager to work closely with clients and lead the delivery of high-quality construction projects.

We are seeking a qualified engineer (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Technologies, Energy or similar) with proven experience in designing MEP installations for various building types — such as hotels, offices, airports, metro/train stations, residential developments — both in Spain and internationally.

You should have solid knowledge of local and international regulations, and experience coordinating MEP or Building Services disciplines in medium to large-scale projects. Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a multidisciplinary MEP team to deliver high-quality building and infrastructure projects, ensuring client satisfaction and technical excellence.
  • Deliver, review and approve engineering solutions.
  • Act as the key liaison between the client and AECOM, ensuring effective communication and strong, long-term relationships.
  • Ensure project goals are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Plan and schedule project activities in coordination with the Planning Engineer.
  • Identify project changes and support the Project Manager with technical justification.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other disciplines, such as Architecture and Structural Engineering.
  • Continuously enhance technical expertise within the team and individually.

What we offer:

  • A hybrid working model (2–3 days/week in the Barcelona office, depending on project needs).
  • Flexible working hours to support work-life balance.
  • The opportunity to grow your career within a global company, collaborating with key stakeholders across AECOM’s international network.
  • A very positive and collaborative working environment, where teamwork and mutual support are part of our culture.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or related disciplines)

Experience:

  • Proven track record in developing conceptual installation designs through to completion, including MEP discipline coordination in projects and direct client interaction.
  • Relevant experience in Building Services design.
  • Successful collaboration with design teams on national and international projects.
  • Experience in construction environments will be considered a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Solid understanding of the requirements of other disciplines involved in multidisciplinary projects.

Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in written reports and oral presentations.

Personal Attributes:

  • Highly motivated and proactive.
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to act on own initiative.
